About The Snow Globe
IMMERSE in complete silence with the absence of electricity: no hum or vibrations from this completely solar/propane fueled geodesic dome. GLAMP in this off-grid adventure — 430 sq ft floor plan, 14 ft ceiling, 20 ft bay window with an endless nature view at the foot of your bed.
Stargaze from the deck or fire pit. Nestle in the romantic wooded nature of southeast Missouri. Unplug, unwind, relax. Adventure seekers only!
This is a stay + experience, not a hotel — and the hosts will be totally transparent about what you might encounter to be sure you're a good fit. Ask them anything.
ENERGY comes from a quiet 1000W Jackery battery generator, recharged by the sky. 1000 watts is enough for a week if you throttle down busy life — take the Low Energy Challenge.
The BEDROOM queen is dressed in seasonal bedding beneath the bay window. The BATHROOM is indoors with a simple, odorless dry toilet and a quick-heating hot shower fed by a 275-gallon indoor water tank. The KITCHEN provides place settings for four, a butane single-burner cooktop, and a pub table for two; a Blackstone griddle waits on the deck, and pour-over coffee, tea, and a Berkey-filtered drinking water supply are provided.
HEATING comes from a gravity-fed pellet stove you run yourself (pellets supplied in winter). COOLING is a low-voltage fan and 8-ft vents — there is no air conditioning, and no WiFi either: let nature be your television. Two hammocks hang under the cabin for napping, absorbing the sunset, or stargazing.
Nothing will be perfect except the unique experience: you may have to lift a 40 lb bag of pellets, swap a propane tank, get a bit hot or a bit cold, see bugs, or see a snake in the Woods. Whatever Missouri has to offer, that's what you'll get. It's amazingly rewarding.

What this place offers
Where you'll be
Nature is your neighborhood — the Dome is snuggled in the Woods of southeast Missouri, south of St. Louis and north of Memphis. Roam until you see a fence line. Nearby houses are close in case of emergency but not within view of the dome, and you're only nine minutes from Perryville's town center, restaurants, shopping and trails. A vehicle is needed at this location; the dome sits off a paved road on a gravel right-of-way, unplowed in winter.
